Seedbombs Tanzania

We provide education to local communities in Tanzania concerning Reforestation and Climate Change Mitigation Strategies.

TEACH.

Inspiring youth to develop the skills necessary for building a sustainable future.

PLANT.

Sowing seeds for indigenous tree species that thrive in local environments.

GROW.

Nurturing the health of trees and supporting those who will grow up to conserve them.

What We Fight For

Education

Setting up training workshops for existing environmental clubs at local schools to teach essential permaculture principles alongside the SeedBombs methodology.

Reforestation

Training and trusting local community members to plant indigenous tree species using SeedBombs in areas where they are needed most, in order to combat erosion and other land degradation.

Carbon Sequestering

Collaborating with stakeholders to connect the six rural villages of Gehandu, Balangdalelu, Mureru, Lalaji, Diloda and Dirma in Hanang' District to establish a carbon credit project for the benefit of local people.

Community Involvement

Utilizing a people-centric approach to involve community members in every level of the SeedBombs organization, including the incorporation of indigenous knowledge for training sessions and physical planting.

Mission

Establishing an education center and tree nursery to collaborate with and train ecology educators and their students from around East Africa on the Seed Bomb methodology which is designed to maximize the efficiency and scalability of reforestation projects.

Vision

Supporting resilient communities to revitalize natural environments and continue sustainable development practices for generations to come.

WE ARE COMMITTED TO THE U.N. SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT GOALS.

According to Global Forest Watch, from 2001 to 2021 Hanang’ District lost 9.3% of its total tree coverage.

Deforestation continues to be driven by clearing of forests for agriculture, household usage of charcoal/firewood, and timber export.

The SeedBombs Solution.

  • Educate teachers and students from around East Africa about essential ecological principles.
  • Create Seed Bombs. Millions of them!
  • Distribute Seed Bombs throughout East Africa using the people centric approach of hand planting in groups.
  • Monitor the growth of newly planted trees and take necessary measures to protect saplings from destruction by livestock, wildlife, and the elements.
